Discotek Media announced on Monday that it will release several titles on Blu-ray Disc, covering both well-known anime and classic live-action series.
Digimon Tamers (Season 3)
Discotek announced that it will release Digimon Tamers, also known as Digimon Season 3, on Blu-ray in an HD-upscaled format, following the same approach the company used for earlier Digimon series. The first release will be the English dub version, with the Japanese version and English subtitles to follow later. The release also celebrates the series’ 25th anniversary.
Hana Yori Dango (Boys Over Flowers)
Shojo anime fans will not want to miss this: Discotek will release the legendary TV anime series Hana Yori Dango (花より男子) on Blu-ray with newly improved English subtitles and an English dub. The set will also include the series’ 30-minute anime film.
Journey to Japan: The Kyoto Connection
The live-action film Journey to Japan: The Kyoto Connection, starring Christina Lindberg, will be remastered in HD before being released on Blu-ray.
Kamen Rider: Skyrider
Finally, Discotek announced the long-awaited Blu-ray release of Kamen Rider: Skyrider. This will be the first time the series has appeared in HD disc format anywhere in the world. Skyrider brought the Kamen Rider character back to television after the original series ended, and is known variously as Skyrider, Kamen Rider (New), or simply Kamen Rider.
