The official TV anime website for the popular cooking manga Iron Wok Jan! (鉄鍋のジャン! / Tetsunabe no Jan!) by Shinji Saijo has released the main promotional video, announced additional cast members, revealed the broadcast date, and introduced the theme song artist all at once.
Theme Song and Broadcast Date
A seven-member group of singers and dancers called “Genin wa Jibun ni Aru.” will perform the opening theme “Hien” (火宴 — Fire Banquet). The anime is set to premiere on July 5 via TV Tokyo and affiliated stations, airing every Sunday at 17:30 JST.

Synopsis
Iron Wok Jan! follows the life of Jan Akiyama, a hot-headed young chef working in a high-class restaurant. He frequently clashes with Kiriko Gobancho, the granddaughter of the restaurant’s owner who is an equally skilled chef. The two have sharply contrasting culinary philosophies — Kiriko believes cooking should be done for the customer, while Jan sees the kitchen as a battlefield for competition.
About the Manga
The original manga by Saijo ran in Weekly Shonen Champion published by Akita Shoten from 1995 to 2000, spanning 27 volumes, with total franchise sales exceeding 10 million copies. Additional works include the sequel Tetsunabe no Jan! R: Chojo Sakusen (10 volumes), the spin-off Tetsupai no Jan! in Kindai Mahjong (7 volumes, concluded in 2018), and the continuation Iron Wok Jan! 2nd, which began in 2017 and concluded with volume 7 in 2020.
