One week after the collaboration between 『名探偵プリキュア！』 (Meitantei Precure! / Detective Precure) and 『名探偵コナン』 (Meitantei Conan / Detective Conan) was announced, the long-awaited crossover episode finally arrived. Episode 18, titled 「名探偵の共演（アッセンブル）」 (Great Detectives Assemble), aired on Sunday, May 31, 2026, and generated a huge response from viewers.
The Case Begins
The story begins when Anna, Mikuru, and Jet-sen help prepare an exhibition at the Hojo Art Museum. Then the exhibition’s highlight, 「12時のわすれもの」 (The Forgotten Item at Midnight), mysteriously disappears. The police investigate the scene, while Anna and Mikuru begin their own inquiry and discover that the replica glass slipper on display is made of resin, not real glass.
While the two seriously focus on the case, Jet-sen starts acting strangely, jumping around by himself. Viewers were left confused, asking “What is Jet-sen doing!?” before he returned alone to the Q-Atta Detective Agency.
Conan-kun Appears!
When Anna and Mikuru return to the museum, they encounter Hanzawa-san, a familiar character from Conan. Many viewers exclaimed, “Even Hanzawa-san!?” Soon after, a familiar voice is heard, followed by the appearance of Conan-kun and Kogoro Mouri (Mouri-no-occhan), sending viewers into excitement across social media.
Conan immediately notices with his sharp eyes that Anna and Mikuru are detectives, and the two sides introduce themselves. When Conan-kun tells Mikuru that she is a “famous detective,” Mikuru smiles shyly as usual, making viewers laugh and comment, “Mikuru is still Mikuru, even in a crossover episode!”
Conan-kun reveals that he came to investigate rumors about a “monster” that have been spreading around town. After hearing the details of the case from Anna and Mikuru, he gives an amazingly precise hint, prompting viewers to say, “Conan-kun really is good!”
Solving the Mystery of “The Forgotten Item at Midnight”
Anna and Mikuru check the security camera footage again and finally identify the suspect as Owner Hojo, the owner of the museum. The real and fake glass slippers can be distinguished by differences in temperature when touched, and Owner Hojo was not wearing gloves at the time of the incident.
However, the real “Forgotten Item at Midnight” still cannot be found. Conan-kun and his friends visit the Q-Atta office again. Conan-kun’s own case seems to have been solved, and he comes to help Anna and Mikuru continue theirs.
When Ran-neechan notices a glass aquarium in the room, Anna, Mikuru, and Conan-kun all arrive at the same new theory: “The Forgotten Item at Midnight” is hidden inside that aquarium.
Major Surprise: “Sleeping Anna” Instead of “Sleeping Kogoro”!
To prove the theory, Conan-kun tries to shoot his tranquilizer dart at Mouri-no-occhan in his usual style. But then something completely unexpected happens: the dart misses and hits Anna instead. Viewers were shocked and laughing at the same time, with comments such as “Conan-kun’s aim got worse because it is a crossover, haha.”
Conan-kun is forced to use Anna’s voice for the deduction, creating “眠りのあんな” (Sleeping Anna) in place of the familiar “眠りの小五郎” (Sleeping Kogoro). Mikuru and Jet-sen are baffled by Anna’s strange behavior, and viewers were just as stunned. This deduction scene is filled with scientific terms such as “refractive index” and “ethanol,” making it completely different from the show’s usual mystery-solving style.
Although confused, Mikuru follows Anna’s deduction and successfully finds the real “Forgotten Item at Midnight” inside the aquarium, using rubber gloves for safety. Viewers praised this careful attention to detail.
Ran-neechan Intercepts, and Conan-kun Helps Again!
Owner Hojo’s true identity is Niji, a member of the Phantom Thief Gang. When Niji tries to snatch “The Forgotten Item at Midnight,” Ran-neechan steps in with her signature karate. Viewers grew excited and commented, “Ran-neechan’s karate is here!” and “Niji picked the wrong opponent.”
Although Ran-neechan stops Niji for a moment, Niji escapes with the evidence. Mikuru tries to chase while still carrying the sleeping Anna, but she cannot catch up. Then Conan-kun uses his Power-Enhancing Kick Shoes to launch a soccer ball that hits Niji perfectly. Viewers cheered, “There it is! They even did that!”
After being blasted by the ball, Niji says, “I am taking a lot of hits today…”, a meta line that made viewers laugh.
The Precure Transform and Fight, with a Special Finishing Move
When Hannindar appears, Anna and Mikuru transform into Precure to fight. This Hannindar specializes in kicking, matching the glass slipper theme, so Cure Answer and Cure Mystic respond with kicks of their own. They create a ball from Prekit Light and kick it together as Conan-kun shouts “Go!”, a reference that amazed fans, who said “I did not think the collaboration would go this deep!”
In the end, Cure Answer and Cure Mystic use the Prekit Mirror Loupe to unleash the finishing move 「プリキュア！フライング・スペクトル！」 (Precure! Flying Spectrum!), defeating Hannindar and successfully recovering “The Forgotten Item at Midnight.”
Ending with a Classic Line
After the case is solved and the real Owner Hojo appears, Anna and Mikuru turn to Conan-kun and say:
Anna: “Conan-kun!”
Mikuru: “Who are you, really?”
Conan: “Conan Edogawa… a detective.”
This iconic closing line brings episode 18 to a perfect end. There is also a small surprise during the portrait drawing segment, the Nigaoe Challenge, where Ayumi Yoshida from Conan appears.
The next episode on the 『名探偵コナン』 side, in which Cure Answer will appear in the Conan universe, is scheduled to air on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
