Anime fans, get ready. TV anime 『おそ松さん』 (Osomatsu-san) and TV anime 『魔法の姉妹ルルットリリィ』 (Mahou no Shimai Lulutrilily) have announced a surprise collaboration and revealed a collaboration illustration with “cats” as the key connecting theme.

Two Anime You Would Not Expect to Meet

Osomatsu-san is based on Fujio Akatsuka‘s comedy manga Osomatsu-kun, which began serialization in several major magazines in 1962. The TV anime series first aired in 2015 and follows the lives of six sextuplet brothers who have grown into rather hopeless adults.

Mahou no Shimai Lulutrilily is the latest work in Studio Pierrot’s “Pierrot Magical Girl Series.” It follows two sisters who each hide secrets from the other while rising as idols: Kaze Nonoyama / Konpeto Lily and Ru Nonoyama / Mashuu Lulu. The anime began airing in April 2026.

A Memorable Collaboration Illustration

The newly revealed illustration shows Ichimatsu, the fourth son from Osomatsu-san, gently caring for Uguisu and Azuki from Lulutrilily. The connection behind the collaboration is a shared love of cats: Ichimatsu may look cold and sarcastic, but he loves cats with all his heart, while Uguisu and Azuki are cat-like beings from the magical land of Felix Star.

The image shows Ichimatsu petting the two as they curl up on his lap, wearing a happy smile rarely seen in the regular series. Uguisu’s slightly bored expression adds another cute highlight to the illustration.
