The story follows Yuri, a modern Japanese girl who is pulled into a spring and transported back in time to an ancient Middle Eastern village, where she is captured and brought to the palace of a queen to be used as a sacrifice.
In the United States, Viz Media began publishing the English edition in 2004 and most recently re-released it in an Omnibus 3-in-1 format starting in October 2024, with the seventh volume set for release on April 21 of this year. The manga was also adapted into a stage production by the renowned Takarazuka Revue in 2018.
