The second season of the TV anime based on the manga 「正反対な君と僕」(Seihantai na Kimi to Boku) by Akazawa Kochi has released its second PV, and at the same time announced that the opening theme for this season will be 「猫じゃらし (Nekojarashi)」, a work by music project 7co — comprising Ashida Nanako and music producer RYUJA.
What the Second PV Shows
The new PV presents vivid snapshots of Suzuki and Tani‘s everyday lives, playing out to the opening song “Nekojarashi.” It also reveals how the relationship between Yamada and Nishi continues to slowly change from mere classmates, along with a glimpse of Taira — still wrestling with his own feelings as before — and Azuma, who begins to face himself after overhearing Taira’s words.

When I read this manga, I genuinely felt like I’d become a student again. The adorable name “Tempura” of Tanikun’s cat was so endearing that I ended up making almost every song I wrote have “Tempura” in the title. When recording, I kept thinking of Suzuki the whole time and sang with a voice slightly different from usual. This song needs to convey the excited, racing feeling of a heart that is falling in love, and the youthful atmosphere that permeates daily life — through the image of a “kitty pouncing on a cat toy” seen everywhere along the way. If this song can help bring the characters’ feelings to life just a little, it would make me incredibly happy.

The anime 「正反対な君と僕」Season 2 will begin airing on MBS / TBS and 28 affiliated stations nationwide from July 5, 2026, every Sunday at 17:00.
