The Golden Trailer Awards, an annual event recognizing outstanding film marketing, officially announced its winners last Thursday. The awards ceremony was held at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills on May 28.
Anime and Game-Related Winners
Silent Hill f, the latest spinoff in Konami’s Silent Hill franchise, made its mark by winning “Best Video Game Trailer”. Meanwhile, Netflix’s animated series KPop Demon Hunters earned “Best Animation/Family Poster”.
In addition, the live-action film adaptation of KOTAKE CREATE’s looping horror game Exit 8 (8番出口) won “Best Foreign Horror”.
Nominated Works That Did Not Win
- Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc was nominated for “Best Foreign Animation/Family”, but lost to TNT4 CHANNEL’s ALICE IN WONDERLAND.
- The live-action Street Fighter film from CAPCOM and Legendary Entertainment was nominated for “Best Action TV Spot” for its promotional clip shown at The Game Awards last year, but lost to One Battle After Another.
- The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie from Nintendo, Illumination, and Universal Pictures, was nominated for “Best Animation/Family TV Spot” for its “Go” video, but lost to Hoppers.
- The live-action One Piece series based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga received two nominations: “Best Animation/Family TV Spot – TV/Streaming Series” for the “Pirate” trailer, and “Best Action TrailerByte for a TV/Streaming Series” for the clip set “Luffylicious, Nami The Navigator, Sanji’s Cooking, Usopptastic, Zorofying”.
