The TV anime 「Sora wa Akai Kawa no Hotori」 (Faintly Crimson by the Riverside), adapted from the manga by Shinohara Chie, has announced 7 more voice cast members along with a brand-new main visual filled with an atmosphere of epic grandeur.
New Voice Cast Members
The newly revealed characters and their voice actors are as follows:
- Kikkuri, the loyal attendant who has served Prince Kail since childhood — voiced by Ono Tomohito
- Hadi, a skilled Hittite warrior woman who surpasses any man in combat — voiced by Aoki Shiki
- Riwi, Hadi’s younger twin sister — voiced by Kawade Natsumi
- Shara — voiced by Matsuoka Mizato
- Kash, a Hittite military charioteer under Kail’s command — voiced by Ishitani Haruki
- Rusafa, a Hittite mounted archer — voiced by Enoki Junya
- Mittannimwa, a Hittite infantry soldier — voiced by Kamio Shinichiro
A Main Visual Full of Epic Grandeur
The newly released main visual depicts Yuri, the story’s protagonist, standing tall and dignified in the middle of a sky lit with the colors of dawn. Surrounding her are key characters including Kail, the third prince of the Hittite Empire; Zananza, the fourth prince; Nakia, a queen consort determined to secure the throne’s succession for her own son; and Mattiwaza, the Mittani prince who watches Yuri with cold, calculating eyes. Together the image evokes the trials and fate that await Yuri on the front lines.
About the Series
「Sora wa Akai Kawa no Hotori」is a historical fantasy following Yuri, a modern Japanese girl who is transported back in time to the Hittite Empire of the 14th century BC before she can even catch her breath. There she meets Prince Kail, who holds her as a concubine-candidate, and she gradually earns the trust of the people until she is granted the title of Ishtar, Goddess of War. Set against Queen Nakia’s schemes, power struggles with neighboring kingdoms, and the life-or-death battles awaiting her, she begins to discover her own feelings for Kail.
For the TV anime, Kobayashi Kosuke is directing, Tomita Yoriko is handling series composition, and Tatsunoko Production is the animation studio, with Tachibana Mira voicing Yuri and Kato Wataru voicing Prince Kail, Murushili.

The TV anime 「Sora wa Akai Kawa no Hotori」is scheduled to premiere in July 2026 on Nippon TV and BS Nippon TV.
