The anime 「タコピーの原罪」(Takopi’s Original Sin) is officially heading to theaters under the full title 「タコピーの原罪 -ありがとう、また明日-」 (Takopi’s Original Sin: Arigatou, Mata Ashita). Along with this announcement, a special preview (特報) and a message from original manga author Taizan 5 have also been released.
About the Story
「タコピーの原罪」 is a work by Taizan 5, serialized in Shonen Jump+ from November 2021 to March 2022. The story follows “Takopi,” an alien being from the Planet of Happiness who descends to Earth to spread joy, and encounters a girl named Shizuka — setting the stage for a complex and emotionally stirring narrative.
The anime version streamed in June 2025 in 6 episodes, produced by studio ENISHIYA, directed by Iino Shinya, with character design by Nagahara Keita and music by Fujisawa Yoshimasa.
The Film: New Sequel Scenes and Special Footage
The theatrical film 「タコピーの原罪 -ありがとう、また明日-」 will bring together all 6 episodes of the anime as a compiled feature for the theatrical release, while also adding new scenes never seen before in the TV series. The special preview already released depicts the path of Takopi, Shizuka, and their friends, accompanied by the message: “To everyone who has met Takopi — that story, one more time.”
