The staff for the television anime based on Spica Aoki‘s manga Kaiju Girl Caramelise (Otome Kaijū Carameliser) has revealed the second main promotional video, a new main visual, additional staff members, theme songs and an official premiere date of July 2, 2026.
Theme songs
The opening theme is titled “Otome Kaijū” and is performed by METANICK. The ending theme is “Otome no Honki” (A Girl’s Earnestness) by HoneyWorks feat. HaKoniwalily. The latest promotional video also previews the opening theme.

Broadcast schedule
The anime will premiere on TBS on July 2 at 25:28 Japan time, which is 1:28 a.m. on July 3. It will then air on BS11 on July 3 at 25:00, or 1:00 a.m. on July 4, and on AT-X on July 5 at 23:30.
Story
Kuroe Akaishi is a high school girl suffering from a mysterious illness. She has avoided socializing because of her shyness and discomfort with herself. But fate leads her to meet Arata Minami, the most popular boy in class, and when she becomes aware of the feelings in her heart, the power sleeping inside her awakens. A battle between love and reason begins, overturning shōjo manga conventions like never before.

The anime is directed by Teruyuki Omine, who previously worked as an episode director on Attack on Titan The Final Season, Hell’s Paradise and Spy×Family Seasons 2 and 3. Animation production is by LIDEN FILMS. Series scripts are handled by Yuniko Ayana, known for BanG Dream!, The Idolm@ster SideM and The Magical Girl and The Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies. Character design is by Mitomi Nakayama, known for Saga of Tanya the Evil and the Shirobako film, with GOOD SMILE FILM producing.
About the original manga
Spica Aoki began serializing the manga in Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Alive magazine in 2018. The series currently has more than 230,000 copies in circulation. Kadokawa will release Volume 10 on July 22. The English edition is published by Yen Press, which released Volume 8 on October 28.
