At an advance screening held on Sunday, the staff for the TV anime The Villager of Level 999 (Level 999 no Murabito), based on the light novel by Koneko Hoshitsuki, unveiled the main promotional video, main visual, additional staff members and official broadcast date.
Opening and ending themes
The main promotional video reveals the ending theme “HP”, performed by Yukimura. It also once again previews the previously announced opening theme “Not a Hero” by Nakuru Aitsuki and Itsuki Natsume.

Main staff and cast
The anime is directed by Yoshinobu Kasai at Brains Base, with Shinzō Fujita (The World Is Still Beautiful, To Your Eternity) handling series scripts, Kentarō Matsumoto (D-Frag!, Grimms Notes the Animation, In/Spectre) designing the characters and Hiroshi Nakamura composing the music.

Broadcast date and streaming
The anime’s first episode will air on TV Tokyo on July 1 at 24:00 Japan time, which is midnight on July 2, and on BS Fuji on July 2 at 24:30. It will also stream in Japan on ABEMA and DMM TV.
The staff also announced that the series’ Blu-ray Box will be released on October 28 and will include a special novel written by Hoshitsuki.
About the original work
The story is set in the sword-and-magic fantasy world of Earthqualia, where everyone is born with a predetermined “class” or role. The protagonist Koji Kagami is assigned the weakest class, “villager,” yet he has reached level 999. By chance, he meets Alice, the daughter of the Demon King, and the two set out on a journey to find a way for humans and demons to coexist.
Hoshitsuki published the original story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website from July to December 2018, with additional side stories in 2019. The print edition was published by Kadokawa with illustrations by fuumi starting in May 2016 and concluded with Volume 8 in January 2019.
The manga adaptation by Kenichi Iwamoto began serialization in Kadokawa’s Comp Ace magazine in May 2017, and its 21st collected volume is scheduled for release on July 23.
