The anime film Kimi to Hanabi to Yakusoku to continues to reveal additional cast members. The latest announcement confirms that Nanami Saiki, Hanaka Kikyo, and Yuka Himemiya, members of the seven-member idol group AVAM, will appear as classmates of the main character Makoto Natsume, voiced by Shori Sato of timelesz. The film is scheduled to open on July 17, 2026.
About the Film
Kimi to Hanabi to Yakusoku to is adapted from a novel by Kaoru Mado, published under Shogakukan’s Gagaga Bunko label. Kei Suzuki directs the film, with planning and production by Shin-Ei Animation. Animation production is handled by SynergySP and Answer Studio.
The story is set against the atmosphere of the Nagaoka Festival Grand Fireworks (長岡まつり大花火大会), one of Japan’s three great fireworks festivals, which draws hundreds of thousands of spectators each year. The film presents a time-crossing romance connected by a mysterious painting, blending beauty and sadness.

The main theme song is timelesz’s new song 「消えない花火」(Kienai Hanabi), which reflects the film’s world and emotions.
Who Is AVAM?
AVAM is a seven-member idol group formed through an audition that drew more than 15,000 applicants. The group stands out with its “komachi” concept and the hit song 「今日、依存して。」, which became popular on TikTok and has surpassed 20 million total views including its music video. The group and its individual members now have more than 2.2 million followers across social media, making AVAM especially popular among Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences.
