The staff of the anime Uso Tantei Tomanto (Lie Detective Tomanto) announced last Monday that Natsuki Hanae will join the cast of the anime’s “update” version, voicing the protagonist Lemonade.
In addition, it was confirmed that Maria Ise, who voices the character Mamango in the series, will also take on a new additional character — namely Ijiko Berriri, a new female detective.

Staff and Production Details
The update version is directed by Hazumu Sakuta (director of Sumikko Gurashi Sorairo no Mainichi and Eiga Sumikko Gurashi: Tsugihagi Kojou no Fushigi na Ko) at studio Fanworks. Yoichi Kato (The IDOLM@STER Million Live!, Yo-kai Watch) serves as series supervisor and scriptwriter, while Michiko Suzawa (Case Closed, InuYasha) handles series composition. The original series was directed by Yoko Usami at Fanworks as well.
The update version began airing weekly on the morning variety program ZIP! on NTV starting March 30.
About Uso Tantei Tomanto
The staff describes the series as a “cute × mystery” anime following Tomanto and friends as they solve various mysteries using their knowledge of vegetables and fruits. The name “Tomanto” is a play on “tomato” and “manto” (the inverness coat iconic of Sherlock Holmes).
The original series debuted on TRAIN TV, a video platform on JR train screens, in October 2025, with episode 26 being the final episode that aired on April 5. All episodes are also available on the TRAIN TV website and YouTube after broadcast.
