โลโก้ TBS Holdings และสตูดิโอAnime Seven Arcs

Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) Holdings released its financial report for the fiscal year ending March, revealing that the anime division achieved revenue growth of 80.8%, reaching a value of 3,198 billion yen (approximately 20.1 billion USD). Despite this, the company still reported a total net loss of 524 million yen (approximately 3.29 million USD), even as revenue figures showed significant improvement.

Reasons for the Loss and Revenue Growth

TBS explained that the loss was driven by higher production investment costs for premium anime projects, while the revenue increase was primarily fueled by international distribution of Dream Animals: The Movie.

Sand B Acquires Major Stake in Xenotoon

Sand B, the anime planning and development subsidiary within the TBS group, acquired a 51% stake in the 3D CG anime studio Xenotoon last May, making Xenotoon a consolidated subsidiary within the TBS network.

In addition to this, TBS and Sand B plan to integrate Xenotoon with TBS’s anime studio Seven Arcs in mid-2027.

Seven Arcs and the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Franchise

TBS acquired Seven Arcs studio back in December 2017. The studio is well known among anime fans for the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha (マジカル・ガール・リリカル・ナノハ) franchise. Seven Arcs is currently producing the latest installment of the franchise titled Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance, which is scheduled to air on July 4.

About Sand B

TBS Holdings established Sand B (formerly known under a provisional name as CIP) in May 2025, with the aim of planning, developing, and producing TBS animation. TBS invested 30,000 million yen (approximately 207 million USD) to set up the company, targeting revenue expansion and accelerated growth in the global market through collaboration with Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS). Kazuhiko Akatsu serves as the company’s representative director.
