The 33rd Crayon Shin-chan theatrical film, officially titled 『映画クレヨンしんちゃん 奇々怪々!オラの妖怪バケ〜ション』 (Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Strange and Mysterious! My Yokai Vacation), is set to open in Japanese theaters on July 31, 2026. The production has now revealed seven additional voice cast members who will portray the yokai characters in the story.
Story Synopsis
The adventure begins when the Nohara family heads to Hiroshi’s hometown in Akita Prefecture to enjoy a firefly festival — the symbol of summer. While there, they accidentally wander into the “Yokai Realm,” and the family must confront one unexpected crisis after another in a world that is both familiar and utterly wild. Kasukabe, the neighborhood the family knows so well, and indeed all of Japan, is thrown into chaos as yokai from the realm break out into the human world.
The film is directed by Watanabe Masaki, who has served as series director since 2022 and began storyboarding and directing segments of the theatrical films from 2024. The screenplay is written by Nakamura Yoshiko.

Voice Cast Comments
Kaji Yuki (Hayakuemon): “Appearing in a Crayon Shin-chan film is a long-cherished dream for many voice actors, and I am one of them. I’m so happy to have received this opportunity. I hope everyone enjoys the world of yokai through Shin-chan’s eyes — Shin-chan’s spirited energy really does save the world!”
Shimono Hiro (Karaso): “Another dream has come true!! I’ve always watched this film series, and on top of that I got to play a yokai role, which is something very special to me. I’m so excited for this screening!”
Minase Inori (Pingoko): “Reading the script made me both excited and tearful. Shin-chan’s encounters with the yokai help each character grow. I hope everyone will go see it with the people they love this summer!”
Endo Aya (Mamota): “Mamota is a little timid, but she loves her home and friends just like Shin-chan. My favorite moment is when Mamota meets Shin-chan for the very first time — it felt like I was getting the role myself.”
Sakino Shunsuke (Kumada no Oza): “I think of summer images — fireflies, evening cicadas, a light yukata, fireworks, and a spine-chilling ghost story. See everyone at the summer cinema!”
Komatsu Mikako (Sujiko): “I’ve watched Shin-chan since I was a child, and now as a mother I see the story from Misae’s perspective without even realizing it. Sujiko is a very distinctive yokai — I had a blast voicing her!”
Sato Setsuji (Captain Kappara-Taiko): “The character name alone is fun (laughs). Every voice actor in the cast is so talented that I almost mistook them for real yokai! This film made me laugh, cry, and feel nostalgic all at once.”
