The TV anime Perfect Addiction (パーフェクトアディクション) has unveiled several major updates at once, including the main voice cast, first key visual, broadcast window, and the official website launch.
A Hit BL Manga with Over 1.5 Million Copies in Print
The source material is a manga by Miyama Kaoruko that topped the Love Comedy category at Chil Chil’s BL Award 2025 and ranked 9th in the Comic Seymour Annual Ranking 2025 BL Manga category. Total print and digital copies — including both the paperback and digital editions — have now surpassed 1,500,000.
The story revolves around Akihito, a handsome and endlessly girl-crazy young man, and Zao, a cool beauty who is hard to read and even harder to get close to. The two have completely opposite personalities, yet end up confronting what it means to experience “real love” for the first time in their lives. The sweet and intense BL romance has won fans from a wide range of readers.
Part of the “BALLOON Project” Bringing BL to the World
The anime adaptation was announced in February 2026 as the second title under the BALLOON Project, an initiative with a concept of “sending BL out to the world in the form of Light Anime (R),” and additional details have continued to be revealed.
The Two Main Voice Actors
- Azakami Yohe (阿座上洋平) as Kuji Akihito — a cheerful student who is always chasing cute girls; he develops a crush on Zao’s face but can’t shake the uncomfortable feeling that Zao treats him coldly.
- Saito Soma (斉藤壮馬) as Takatsuki Zao — a cool beauty who is hard to approach; despite having experience with the same gender, he has never had a fan, and secretly finds himself drawn to Akihito’s face deep down.
Story Synopsis
“I like your face, okay? Because it’s really beautiful.” — Akihito, a student who loses himself in beauty and chases girls, feels an inexplicable pull toward Zao, whose face is beautiful yet acts cold. At a group social gathering one day, Akihito spots the girl he’s been crushing on in what appears to be a compromising situation with some guy near the hotel district. Seeing Zao in a state he has never witnessed before, Akihito finds himself unable to control his own feelings — and the unexpected happens…!?
