The beloved collaboration between Morita Masanori’s manga 「ろくでなしBLUES」(Rokudenashi BLUES) and McDonald’s Japan is back for a second round. This time the partnership is tied to the menu item Spicy Chicken McNugget, with an unmissable commercial that fans will love.
“Four Divine Sauces” Commercial Airs Nationwide on May 26
A 15-second commercial titled Spicy Chicken McNugget “Four Divine Sauces” Hen will begin airing nationwide across Japan from May 26. Maeda Goashi (真栄田郷敦) reprises his role as “Maeda Taison” — a character that blends his own persona with the story’s protagonist Maeda Taison — making a return appearance following his role in the first collaboration last January.
The commercial takes the concept of the “Four Divine Kings of Tokyo” from the manga and reworks it into “Four Divine Sauces”, with rival factions battling it out to claim the title of the spiciest sauce. The tone is filled with energy and competitive spirit.
Spicy Chicken McNugget — 4 Sauces Available from May 27
The new Spicy Chicken McNugget menu launches on May 27, coming with four sauce varieties:
- Barbecue Sauce — the classic staple
- Mustard Sauce — an indispensable classic
- Hot Chili Garlic Sauce — a limited-edition special sauce
- Pepper Cheese Sauce — a limited-edition special sauce
The first two sauces are regular menu options, while the latter two are limited-time specials available only for the designated period.
