The TV anime team behind the romantic comedy Kohsuke Akazawa‘s manga Seihantai na Kimi to Boku (You and I Are Polar Opposites) has released a new promo video for Season 2, along with the announcement of the opening theme artist and additional staff members, on the Monday just passed.

Theme Song and Artist

Artist 7co (read: Nanako) will perform the opening theme titled “Nekojarashi,” a song written specifically for this anime. The track also serves as her major-label debut single.

Staff

Season 2 features a significantly strengthened animation team. Tamami Isawa, who served as animation director in Season 1, is joined by Sara Sagoe (known for Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill, A Star Brighter Than the Sun) as an additional animation director. Eriko Kimura (Call of the Night both seasons, DAN DA DAN both seasons) takes on the role of sound director.

Season 1 and Broadcast

Season 1 began airing on January 11 on MBS, TBS, and affiliated networks, every Sunday at 5:00 PM Japan time, with a simulcast on ABEMA at 5:30 PM. Crunchyroll provides an English-subtitled simulstream on the same day. The series is also co-streamed with Animax Broadcasting Korea and Medialink.

About the Series

Suzuki, a girl who tends to go with the flow, discovers that she herself is lost inside the role she plays — a warm romantic comedy that is sure to capture your heart.

About the Manga

Akazawa began serializing this manga on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ platform in May 2022, after it first appeared as a one-shot on the same website in January 2021. The manga concluded in November 2024, and Shueisha has published a compiled volume 8, the final volume, in March 2025. The series currently has over 1.8 million copies in print (including digital editions). It placed third in the 16th annual Manga Taisho Awards in 2023 and seventh in the 17th annual awards in 2024. MANGA Plus and Viz Media handle the English-language distribution.
