Fans of the anime Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor (Mobile Police Patlabor) can look forward to a new novel titled Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor: Sushi-ya no Goto (Captain Goto and the Sushi Shop), which publisher Bungeishunju is scheduled to release on June 25.
The book is written by Kazunori Ito, who has long handled series composition and scripts for the original anime. Its cover illustration was newly drawn by Masami Yuki specifically for this volume.
A Story Set 30 Years After “That Day”
The novel is described as the series’ “true sequel(?)”, taking readers to meet Kiichi Goto, the former captain of Special Vehicles Section 2. Thirty years have passed since “that day,” and he now quietly runs a sushi shop in Atami.
Meanwhile, the franchise also has the new project Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor EZY File 1 currently screening, making this an especially active period for Patlabor fans.
