The publicity team for season 2 of the television anime “Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc.” has announced two additional cast members. The anime is based on the original manga by Yukika Iwata and Yu Aoki, published by Shueisha.

New Characters and Cast

Director Koshigaya – voiced by Kōsuke Gotō

This character serves as director of the Ministry of Magical Energy, a government agency that oversees magic-related matters in the story’s world. He is also the father of Hitomi Koshigaya. He has a strict personality and firmly adheres to rules, to the point that Hitomi calls him the “embodiment of precision.” Notably, he has always opposed Hitomi becoming a magical girl and has even declared that he has severed their father-daughter relationship.

Director Manda – voiced by Taketora

Manda is the director of the National Institute of Magical Technology, an independent research organization. He is argumentative and self-centered, often speaking against meeting decisions. Moreover, he has hidden information about a new species of kaii that emerged within the institute, failing to report it to the meeting of the Federation of Magical Organizations.

About the Story

Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. is set in a world where exterminating kaii has become a profession for magical girls. Kana Sakuragi, a young woman who has just joined Magilumiere, must grow both as a new employee and as a magical girl. Fairouz Ai voices Kana.

Cast Comments

Kōsuke Gotō (Director Koshigaya)

“Company” feels realistic, while “magical girl” feels fantastical. The way these two seemingly opposite things come together completely drew my interest. The information visible on the surface is not everything; each character has beliefs and history hidden behind them, making the balance between reality and fantasy even more fascinating. As for Director Koshigaya, he is dignified, strict, and thinks more deeply than anyone about the social structure surrounding magical girls. He never wavers! So I tried to speak calmly and use my full abdominal strength every time I was at the microphone. I especially hope everyone pays attention to his scenes interacting with his daughter Hitomi.

Taketora (Director Manda)

The idea of turning magical girl power into a business is very interesting. I really like that magical girls have to “work” in an environment familiar to everyone in real life. I also like that the story gives space to other adults, whether coworkers or bosses. As for Manda, among adults limited by position and self-interest, he is someone you cannot tell is an ally or an enemy, someone you do not know whether to trust. I want to convey what Manda truly wants and fully enjoy the world of Magilumiere.

Broadcast Information

Season 2 of Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. will begin airing on Nippon TV from July 4, 2026, every Saturday at 24:55. The first episode will begin at 25:05.
