The staff for the TV anime based on Metabo Hagure’s light novel Buchigire Reijō wa Hōfuku wo Chikaimashita. Madōsho no Chikara de Sokoku wo Tataki Tsubushimasu (A Livid Lady’s Guide to Getting Even: How I Crushed My Homeland with My Mighty Grimoires) revealed a new trailer, additional cast members, and confirmed the official premiere date of July 6.

Trailer and Theme Songs

The newly released trailer features the series’ opening theme. It is available in an English-subtitled version, which is region-locked in Japan, and a non-subtitled version available worldwide. The opening theme is “Q.E.D.” by Yui Ogura, while the ending theme is “Goodbye Lullaby” by Aguri Ōnishi.

The anime is produced by Studio Comet and directed by Naoyuki Kuzuya, known for Sweet Reincarnation and Saiyuki Gaiden. Series scripts are overseen by Mitsutaka Hirota (Sweet Reincarnation, Rent-A-Girlfriend), character designs are by Sayaka Anezaki, and the music is composed by Satoshi Hōno and Karin Nakano.

Synopsis

Elizabeth Leiston, daughter of the powerful prime minister of the Kingdom of Haldoria, lives a perfect life as a refined lady destined to become the future queen. But everything collapses when her fiance publicly breaks off their engagement, throws her into prison, and spreads malicious rumors to frame her.

Encouraged by her loyal maid Mireille and driven by the rage smoldering inside her, Elizabeth decides to change her life’s goal. She will no longer devote herself to a country that refuses to respect her. Instead, she will trample it flat. With seven powerful magic grimoires in hand, she is ready to take revenge and bring down the kingdom that betrayed her.

Origins of the Work

The original web novel began publication on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in October 2020 and was last updated in September 2022. The illustrated light novel edition, featuring art by masami, began release in May 2022, and the seventh volume went on sale on August 19. The manga adaptation by Oonoimo also launched on Comic Fire in May 2022, and the 10th compiled volume went on sale in Japan on March 2.

J-Novel Club has licensed both the light novel and manga in English.

The anime will premiere on July 6 on AT-X at 22:30, followed by TV Tokyo and BS11.
