The staff for the TV anime based on Tsuyoshi Takaki‘s manga Black Torch released the second promotional video on Friday and officially announced details for the theme songs.
Opening and Ending Themes
Rock band SiM will perform the opening theme song “Freeze Me Up”, while I Don’t Like Mondays. will handle the ending theme song “Groooovy”. The latest promotional video previews both songs for fans.
World Premiere at Anime Expo 2026
The staff also unveiled a new key visual for the anime and confirmed that the series will have its world premiere at Anime Expo 2026 before streaming on Crunchyroll in July 2026.

Synopsis
Jiro Azuma is descended from a shinobi family and has a special gift for communicating with animals. Although he may look rough on the outside, he has a gentle heart when it comes to animals. One day, his love for animals brings a major incident into his life when a suspicious stray cat fuses with his body, giving Jiro supernatural power while also drawing him into a secret war between humans and evil spirits hidden in the world.
Origins of the Manga
The original manga by Tsuyoshi Takaki (creator of Heart Gear) began serialization in Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine in December 2016 and concluded with five compiled volumes in August 2018. Viz Media publishes the English edition.
