The TV anime 「才女のお世話 高嶺の花だらけな名門校で、学院一のお嬢様（生活能力皆無）を陰ながらお世話することになりました」 (Saijo no Osewa) has announced that Asumi Maejima will play Karen Asahi. She will also perform the series’ ending theme song.
About the Anime
「才女のお世話」 is a romantic comedy about Hinako Konohana, a girl who must play the role of a “perfect young lady” at an elite school, and Itsuki Tomonari, a poor young man secretly appointed as her “caretaker.” Karen Asahi, played by Maejima, is a cheerful girl who brightens the atmosphere in Itsuki and Hinako’s classroom and is one of the few people at school with whom Itsuki can speak comfortably.

The Appeal of the Work
Maejima said that although the story takes place at a school filled with refined young ladies, each heroine has her own distinct personality and color. The series has both comedy and warmth, making it relaxing to watch. She also said the atmosphere in the recording studio was calm and friendly, and she believes that feeling will be reflected in the gentleness of the work.
Playing Karen Asahi
She said Karen’s defining trait is the brightness that lights up those around her, so she tried to make the character speak naturally with everyone, whether Konohana, Tennoji, or Miyakojima, while also encouraging Tomonari to join the conversation. Maejima was also moved when other cast members said, “It feels reassuring to have Asahi and Taisho here.”
Ending Theme Song
Maejima will perform the ending theme song 「完璧じゃないわたし」 (Kanpeki ja Nai Watashi / Imperfect Me). She also wrote the lyrics, marking the first time she has written lyrics for a tie-in work. She said that while reading the original story, memorable lines from the characters inspired the lyrics to flow naturally, and she wants the song to convey the delicate feelings of the “refined young ladies.”
