The staff of the anime based on Kentarou‘s manga Rakudai Kenja no Gakuin Musou: Nidome no Tensei, S-Rank Cheat Majutsushi Bokenroku, also known as From Overshadowed to Overpowered, revealed the main promotional video and a new key visual on Saturday. The video announces and previews the official opening theme, “+Encount”, performed by rock band FLOW, and also confirms the anime’s official debut date.
Broadcast Schedule
The anime will begin streaming in Japan on d Anime Store, ABEMA, and U-NEXT on June 25 at 24:00, which is midnight on June 26. It will then air on Tokyo MX on July 1 at 24:00, with broadcasts also planned for ABC TV, BS Fuji, and WOWOW.
The ending theme, “Dokei” (Aspiration), is performed by TrySail.
Synopsis
Ephtal, a young man from the modern world, is reincarnated in a world of magic. He devotes his entire life to studying magic, only to discover that he has no talent for it at all, and dies full of regret. However, that is not the end. Four hundred years later, he is reincarnated again under the same name, retaining all of his knowledge and power. He then resolves to reach the pinnacle of magic once more.

Original Work
The anime is based on Kentarou’s manga, which has been serialized on Square Enix’s Manga UP! website since September 2019. Square Enix is scheduled to release the ninth compiled manga volume on July 7.
The manga adapts the light novel by Arata Shiraishi, titled Rakudai Kenja no Gakuin Musou: Nido Tensei Shita Saikyo Kenja, 400-nen-go no Sekai o Maken de Muso. The story was originally published as a web novel before Kadokawa released it in print in October 2019 with illustrations by uodenim. Kadokawa published the eighth volume in March 2022. English readers can follow the manga through Comikey and Square Enix’s Manga UP! Global.
