The short anime Tomica & Tom, based on Tsumupapa‘s picture book and Takara Tomy’s Tomica die-cast toy car series, is returning for a second season. The first new episode will air on July 5.
The new season will air inside the children’s variety program Tomipla World Nori Nori Times!! on TV Tokyo and five affiliated channels every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. A major change from the first season is that the broadcast will move from once a month to weekly, and episodes will stream on YouTube after their TV broadcast.
New Theme Song by May J.
A key highlight of the season is the original theme song “Kimi no Takaramono” (“Your Treasure”), performed and co-written by singer May J., known for singing the Japanese version of “Let It Go” from Frozen. The music and arrangement are by producer Ryosuke Imai, who also co-wrote the lyrics.
Staff and Cast
The main staff continues to be led by Tsumupapa as director, handling storyboards, series supervision and scripts, key animation, and sound direction. Production staff include Miyu Kurata, Ayano Yoneda, and Ayami Yoshihira, with Noriko Miyata managing production, Koichi Hirota handling background music, and Takashi Iitsuka editing.
For the cast, Mai Ujita continues to voice Tom, the main teddy bear character.
Looking Back at Season 1
The first season of Tomica & Tom debuted on Tomipla World Nori Nori Times!! on July 20, 2025. Season 2 continues its success with a more frequent broadcast format and new content for viewers to enjoy.
