2025 marked the 40th anniversary of City Hunter, the legendary manga by Tsukasa Hojo that has surpassed 50 million copies in circulation worldwide. Its popularity surged again after the Netflix film City Hunter launched in Japan in 2024, starring Ryohei Suzuki as Ryo Saeba and Mochi Morita as Kaori Makimura, telling the origin of Shinjuku’s powerful duo in the Reiwa era.
