To celebrate the theatrical release of Mononoke the Movie: Chapter 3 – Snake God, Japanese-style goods brand Wamonoya Kaya has launched the third wave of its collaboration items with the franchise. Preorders are now open through the brand’s official online channels.
Looking Back at Mononoke, the Legendary noitamina Work
Mononoke originated from the “Bakeneko” episode of the anime Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales, which aired late at night on Fuji TV in 2006, before branching off into its own TV anime series in 2007. More than 19 years later, the work still maintains a devoted fanbase, even ranking No. 1 in a popularity poll among 70 anime that aired in Fuji TV’s noitamina block.
The story of the mysterious man known as the Medicine Seller, who carries the “Sword of Exorcism,” the only weapon in the world capable of slaying mononoke, has continued to captivate viewers since the film series began screening in 2024.
Balance Scale Theme for Both Japanese and Western Outfits
This collaboration takes inspiration from the balance scale carried by the Medicine Seller and turns it into silver-tone accessories that can be matched with both Japanese and Western clothing. The lineup includes four items:
- Balance Kanzashi: A Japanese-style hair ornament that can be used as a hair accessory, obi accent, or decoration for small items, adding versatility to an outfit
- Balance Earrings: Balance-scale motif earrings that sway and draw attention whenever the wearer moves
- Balance Haori Clip: A haori fastener that brings Japanese-style accessory design naturally into everyday use
- Balance Hair Clip: A hair clip that subtly adds the atmosphere of Mononoke to daily outfits
All four items are now available for preorder on Wamonoya Kaya’s official website. Fans who want to experience Mononoke’s charm through accessories should not miss them.
