The TV anime Youjo Senki II, the second season based on the military fantasy novel series by Carlo Zen, has confirmed its official premiere date. The series will begin airing on July 8, 2026, and will also stream ahead of the television broadcast on ABEMA and d Anime Store.
About Youjo Senki
The original Youjo Senki novel series has surpassed 12 million copies in circulation. The story follows a rationalist salaryman who is reincarnated in another world as a blond, blue-eyed young girl named Tanya Degurechaff (CV: Aoi Yuki). Despite her cute appearance, she rises through the ranks as an elite magical officer and earns the nickname “Devil of the Battlefield.” The series is known for its intense, realistic aerial combat. The first season aired in 2017, followed by an anime film in 2019.
Second Key Visual
Alongside the premiere date announcement, the staff released the second key visual, featuring a giant Tanya standing imposingly at the center with a baton, flanked by two Imperial Army leaders, Zettour and Rerugen. The visual highlights the important roles the three will play in shaping the future of the Empire this season.
Theme Songs
As with the first season, MYTH & ROID returns to perform the opening theme, this time titled “Why? RED induction”. The ending theme is “Weiter! Weiter!”, performed by Tanya Degurechaff (CV: Aoi Yuki), with Masayuki Nakano (THE SPELLBOUND / BOOM BOOM SATELLITES) serving as sound producer. “Why? RED induction” inherits the vivid energy and raw power of the first season’s opening theme, “JINGO JUNGLE,” while adding the solemnity and sadness unique to the second season. The song reflects the despair of facing an endless war, along with sarcastic words that rise up against emptiness. Deep down, however, it carries a stubborn refusal to give up on survival. We hope the song inspires everyone to stand up and keep moving forward.
Mini Anime “Youjoshenki 2”
The staff also confirmed that the mini anime “Youjoshenki 2” will air alongside the main series. It will follow the Salamander Kampfgruppe after it gains new members, including side stories not told in the main anime, such as Weiss’ headaches while training inexperienced recruits and Tanya’s problems before winter arrives. The mini anime will air on AT-X every Wednesday after the main episode and stream on YouTube’s KADOKAWA Anime Channel every Wednesday at 24:00.
