The staff of Sound! Euphonium, The Final Movie Part 2 (Saishu Gakusho Hibike! Euphonium Kohen) streamed a full trailer with English and Chinese subtitles on Saturday. The team also revealed the film’s “final key visual,” carrying the tagline “And so, the final song begins …”.
The Conclusion of a 10-Year Journey
Kyoto Animation said the Sound! Euphonium series has followed high school students devoted to their concert band for more than 10 years. After Season 3 came to an emotional close in 2024, the story returns to theaters in 2026 as The Final Movie, the long-awaited conclusion for fans.
Part 2 of the film will feature musical performance scenes that did not appear in the television series, along with a new screenplay by Jukki Hanada that adds several newly created scenes to deliver a cinematic experience worthy of the franchise’s true finale.

Release Date and Franchise History
Sound! Euphonium, The Final Movie Part 2 is scheduled to open in Japan on September 11, 2026. Part 1 opened on April 24.
The Sound! Euphonium franchise began with a 13-episode anime series in April 2015, followed by a recap film in 2016 and a second 13-episode season in October of that year. The spinoff film Liz and the Blue Bird opened in 2018, and Sound! Euphonium The Movie – Our Promise: A Brand New Day opened in 2019. In 2023, Sound! Euphonium: Ensemble Contest Arc screened in 74 theaters across Japan, before Season 3 aired in April 2024 with Crunchyroll streaming it in multiple regions worldwide.
