The official website for the anime A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special (Japanese title: Kikansha no Mahō wa Tokubetsu Desu) updated key information for Season 2 on Sunday, revealing the opening theme artist, broadcast timing and a new teaser visual. An official announcement video for the premiere window was also released.
Rock band FLOW returns with opening theme “Sorrow”
The well-known rock band FLOW has been invited back to create music for the series once again. This time, they have written the song “Sorrow” specifically as the opening theme for Season 2.
Broadcast schedule and viewing platforms
Season 2 will air in Fuji TV’s “+Ultra” block in October. The broadcast slot is scheduled for Wednesdays at 24:45, equivalent to 12:45 a.m. on Thursday. Season 1 will also be rebroadcast on Fuji TV and Kansai TV starting in July.
Story
In an era when the Shadow World has swallowed the world and humanity is nearly extinct, six heroes fight with everything they have but still fail to avert the great catastrophe. The original work is a web novel by Usonan, published on Kakao Page from September 2016 to August 2019. Wookjakga then adapted it into a webtoon in May 2018.
