The official website for the TV anime Tsuiho Sareta Cheat Fuyo Majutsushi wa Kimamana Second Life o Oka Suru., also known by the shorthand Chi-Fuyo, revealed a new teaser video and promotional visual on Wednesday, along with the staff, voice cast, and official October broadcast window.
The anime is based on the novel by Asa Rokushima, with a manga adaptation by Gyomuyomochi. It will air on TV Tokyo and affiliated networks this October.
Synopsis
Ren Garland is a mage who specializes in enhancing weapons and equipment with magic. One day, he is unfairly expelled from his guild simply because every piece of equipment in the guild has already been fully upgraded. Furious, Ren takes back the enormous amount of mana he had poured into the guild. When he tries releasing that power into an ordinary bronze sword, it becomes a “cheat”-level weapon with 10,000 enhancement points.
Although he has no direct combat experience, Ren’s magic can turn ordinary objects into powerful weapons, so he sets out to begin a new life as a free adventurer. Set in a world where magic and science coexist, the story mixes humor with deeper human drama and has drawn attention from fans since before the anime was announced.

The manga adaptation by Gyomuyomochi began in Kodansha’s Shonen Magazine R in November 2021 before moving to the Comic Days app in March 2023 after Shonen Magazine R ceased publication. The manga has reached volume 20, released on May 8, and is also available digitally in English through Kodansha’s K Manga platform.
