The production team behind the time-loop revenge drama Otto wo Koroshita Hazu na no ni (“I Was Supposed to Have Killed My Husband”) has released the official key visual and announced an expanded cast lineup. The series is adapted from an original vertical-format manga (webtoon) — the first co-production between CLLENN and TV Tokyo — written by Akaisshi Mana and Digital Shokunin, currently serialized on LINE Manga.
Story
Rino is a woman driven by a burning desire for revenge against her unfaithful husband and his mistress. Every time she attempts to kill him, however, she ends up losing her own life instead — only to be hurled back into the past. Trapped in this relentless “death loop,” she gradually uncovers the truth hidden beneath it all.
Key Visual & Lead Cast
The key visual features Uchida Rio as Rino and Watanabe Keisuke as her husband Keita. The image conveys the show’s eerie atmosphere through ghostly afterimages floating behind Rino and vivid pink blood spreading around Keita.

Yajiuchi Yuna (Kikuchi Elena): “When I received the offer, the impactful title made me both excited and a little nervous about what kind of world this story would be. Elena is a role that challenges me in many new ways, and I’ve been experimenting every day on set. I’ll do my best to deliver something that draws viewers fully into this world.”
Kobayashi Ryota (Endo Makoto): “This story layers so many different themes on top of each other — I couldn’t stop wondering where it was all going even while reading the script. From the costume fitting stage, I kept hearing the words ‘a good guy,’ so that’s what I’m aiming for! I’m also thrilled to be reuniting with director Iizuka, who looked after me back in my teens.”
Niu Akari (Sasabe Kotoko): “Kotoko is Keita’s junior at work, but she’s confident and unafraid of anyone — honestly, I want to be like her! (laughs) Her warm dynamic with Endo-san should offer some welcome relief amid all the tension in the story.”
Konno Mahiru (Hasegawa Fumie): “Infidelity, revenge, time loops, suspense — I’m already thrilled to be part of a work packed with so many elements. The script is a genuine page-turner. I want to portray Fumie in a way that makes the bond between her and Rino feel real to the audience.”
Yamashita Yorie (Honjo Mayumi): “I read the script and it looks like a lot of fun. The protagonist keeps time-leaping back to mornings she desperately doesn’t want to relive — I know the feeling; I definitely don’t want to go back to yesterday morning when I spent two hours at the dentist! (laughs) But other people’s misfortunes are always fascinating to watch… I’ll pour more passion into this summer’s shoot than the heat outside.”
Broadcast Information
Otto wo Koroshita Hazu na no ni premieres on July 6, 2026 on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, and TVQ Kyushu, airing every Monday from 23:06–23:55 JST. It will also stream on TVer, U-NEXT, and Lemino. The original manga, currently on LINE Manga, is also scheduled to launch on other digital bookstores in July.
