Crunchyroll Adds Three Titles at Once
Crunchyroll expanded its library on Friday with three new anime additions: the Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise film, the Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to be Loved film, and the Given: Moments in Life OVA.
Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise
The film was directed by Takafumi Ishida and Takeru Satō, both episode directors from the Zombie Land Saga TV series, at studio MAPPA. Shigeru Murakoshi, known for The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse, penned the screenplay.
Character design duties are shared by Fumihide Sai and Jinshichi Yamaguchi (both chief animation directors on the series) alongside Kasumi Fukagawa, the original series’ character designer. Yasuharu Takanashi returns to compose the score, and Yuriko Waki is back as animation producer.
Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to be Loved
Tatsuya Ishihara, director of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S and Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!, helms the new film. Returning cast members include Mutsumi Tamura as Kobayashi, Yūki Kuwahara as Tohru, and Maria Naganawa as Kanna.
New additions to the cast are Fumihiko Tachiki as Kimun Kamui and Nobunaga Shimazaki as Azad. Shiori Sugiura takes over the role of Ilulu, replacing Tomomi Mineuchi, who retired from voice acting in 2022.
The film’s music lineup features fhána performing the opening theme “Namida no Parade” (Parade of Tears), Sachiko Kobayashi performing the ending theme “Bokutachi no Hibi” (Days of Us), and kotringo performing the insert song “Negaigoto” (Wish).
Given: Moments in Life OVA
Kizu launched the Given manga in Chéri+ in 2014. The series concluded in March 2023, with Shinshokan releasing the ninth and final compiled volume in September 2023. Viz Media’s SuBLime imprint publishes the series in English.
The TV anime adaptation premiered on Fuji TV’s Noitamina block in July 2019, followed by an anime film in Japan in May 2020, which Crunchyroll also streams. An OVA titled Given: Uragawa no Sonzai (Given – on the other hand) — focusing on Mafuyu and Ritsuka during the events of the Given film — was bundled with the limited edition of the manga’s seventh volume in December 2021, and Crunchyroll began streaming it in July 2022.
The sequel film project consists of two parts: Eiga Given: Hiiragi mix, which opened in Japan in January 2024, and Eiga Given: Umi e, which followed in September 2024. The newly added Given: Moments in Life OVA is a welcome treat for fans of the franchise.
