The television anime adaptation of The Insipid Prince’s Furtive Grab for The Throne (Japanese title: Saikyō Degarashi Ōji no Anyaku Teii Arasoi: Munō o Enjiru SS-Rank Ōji wa Kōi Keishō-sen o Kage kara Shihai Suru), based on the light novel series by Tanba and Yuunagi, has announced two additional cast members.

New Cast

Yoshitsugu Matsuoka will voice Traugott Lakes Adler, while Ai Kayano will voice Mitsuba.

Story

Arnold, the seventh Imperial Prince of the Adrasia Empire, is dismissed by the public as “THE INSIPID PRINCE” because his twin brother is a celebrated genius. In truth, Arnold secretly operates as SILVER, one of only five SS-rank adventurers on the continent. When his younger brother Leo sets his sights on the throne, Arnold begins pulling strings from the shadows to support him — and finds himself unexpectedly joined by the most beautiful woman in the land. The secret struggle of the strongest prince begins.

Staff

The anime is produced at Maho Film under the direction of Yūji Yanase (By the Grace of the Gods, In the Land of Leadale, Apocalypse Bringer Mynoghra). Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (In the Land of Leadale, Hajime no Ippo Rising, Record of Ragnarok) is handling series scripts, and Kazuko Tadano (Sailor Moon, Wedding Peach, Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens) is designing the characters.

Theme Songs

Dance-vocal group BUDDiiS performs the opening theme “Script,” while idol group Kurawan performs the ending theme “Suteki na Kanchigai” (A Wonderful Mistake).

Source Material

Tanba originally launched the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website on February 3, 2019. Kadokawa‘s Sneaker Bunko imprint published the first volume that September, and the series has since reached 16 volumes, with the latest shipping on April 1. The manga adaptation by Yukino Amagai, serialized on Kadokawa’s Young Ace Up website, will see its 10th volume released on July 10.
