To mark the 10th anniversary of the Touken Ranbu -Hanamaru- TV anime series, a special 10th Anniversary Memorial Book has been announced for release on August 29. On the same day, a commemorative fair titled “Anime Touken Ranbu -Hanamaru- 10th Anniversary Fair in Animate” will kick off at Animate stores nationwide across Japan.
A Double-Cover, 86-Page Full-Color Collector’s Book
The Memorial Book features a double-cover design showcasing newly drawn illustrations by three key members of the anime’s art team: character designer Junichiro Taniguchi, chief animation director Mai Matsuura, and animation director Saori Sakiguchi. The 86-page full-color volume is packed with content, including:
- A brand-new short novel written by series scriptwriter Yuki Nekota
- A comprehensive timeline chronicling the franchise’s 10-year history
- Key visuals, synopses, theme songs, and end cards spanning from the original Touken Ranbu -Hanamaru- through to Toku “Touken Ranbu -Hanamaru-” ~Setsugetsu-ka~
- Introduction pages for all 86 Touken Danshi (sword warriors) who appear throughout the series
Animate Fair with Exclusive Merchandise and Purchase Bonuses
The anniversary fair at Animate will offer a range of merchandise featuring the newly drawn cover illustrations from the Memorial Book, including acrylic stands, clear poster sets, and pin badges.
During the fair period, customers who spend ¥2,200 (tax included) or more on eligible Touken Ranbu -Hanamaru- anime merchandise will receive one randomly selected postcard from a set of 8 designs, each featuring key visuals and teaser visuals from across the series’ history. Pre-orders are currently being accepted through the Animate online store.
