The “King of Prism Super Live Prism☆Tours!” event, held on Sunday, revealed that production has officially begun on a brand-new film in the franchise: King of Prism -Tri-Star Act-. The story centers on “Prism.3,” a competition format for trios performing the series’ signature Prism Shows.
A teaser visual drawn by character designer Mai Matsuura accompanies the announcement, bearing the tagline: “Those bonds will be tested now…”

The film is being produced at Tatsunoko Production, with the principal creative team from previous entries all returning:

King of Prism Franchise History
King of Prism is a spinoff of the Pretty Rhythm franchise. The first film, KING OF PRISM by PrettyRhythm, opened in January 2016, followed by King of Prism: PRIDE the HERO in June 2017.
The King of Prism: Shiny Seven Stars project expanded into both a theatrical film series and a television anime. The four-part film series screened from March through May 2019, while the 12-episode TV anime premiered in April 2019 and was simulcast on Crunchyroll.
King of Prism All Stars: Prism Show Best 10 opened in Japan in January 2020, and King of Prism: Dramatic Prism.1 — a recompilation of the Shiny Seven Stars films and TV anime with new material — followed on August 16, 2024.
Most recently, King of Prism -Your Endless Call- Miinna Kirameki! Prism☆Tours opened on June 27, 2025, and became the franchise’s highest-grossing film, earning over 1.2 billion yen (approximately US$7.4 million) — a strong sign of momentum heading into -Tri-Star Act-.
