The production team behind the television anime adaptation of Yōsuke Kaneda‘s manga The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch (Kuroneko to Majo no Kyōshitsu) released the series’ third main promotional video on Monday. The video previews and announces the new opening theme song for the anime’s second cour: “∞Rettō-Sei” (Infinitely Inferior Star), performed by singer Akari Nanawo.
The staff also revealed a new cast addition: Attack Nishimoto, a member of comedy trio Gerrardon, will voice Ursa Minor, a Virgo Magic student set to appear in episode 13.
Story
Witch apprentice Spica Virgo cannot use magic at all. To earn a place in the magic school she dreams of attending, she needs a mentor — but she has neither money nor connections. One day, a mysterious black cat that can speak and wield magic appears before her. Spica wants to master sorcery, and the black cat longs to break a curse. Their goals align, and so begins their secret master-apprentice pact. The key to breaking the curse is a kiss on the…?!

Staff & Broadcast Details
Naoyuki Tatsuwa (Nisekoi, Promise of Wizard, Seitokai ni mo Ana wa Aru!) is directing the anime at LIDEN FILMS. Midori Gotō (Clean Freak! Aoyama kun, Mr. Villain’s Day Off) is handling series scripts, and Takayuki Onoda (Hortensia Saga) is responsible for character design.
For the first cour, ASCA performs the opening theme “Cusp” and Spira Spica performs the ending theme “Tune Up.”
The series premiered on April 12 and is scheduled for a continuous two-cour, roughly half-year run. It airs every Sunday at 11:30 p.m. in the “Agaru Anime” programming block on CBC, TBS, and 26 other channels. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime simultaneously worldwide.

Kaneda, known for Boarding School Juliet, launched the manga on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app in March 2022. The 14th compiled volume was released on March 9. Kodansha’s K MANGA service publishes the manga in English.
