A surprise crossover has been unveiled between TV anime Yoroi Shinden Samurai Troopers and TV anime Osomatsu-san, featuring a collaboration visual in which the six Samurai Troopers transform into the iconic sextuplets from Osomatsu-san — all armed and dressed in briefs.
A Collaboration Born From One Director
The crossover came about because director Fujita Yoichi helms both series. In the visual, the Samurai Troopers — Gai, Uesugi Kaito, Hojo Musashi, Hojo Yamato, Ishida Shion, and Oda Ryusei — are reimagined as Osomatsu, Karamatsu, Ichimatsu, Jushimatsu, Choromatsu, and Todomatsu respectively, each striking a battle pose in their briefs-clad armament.
Director Fujita commented on the collaboration:
“When I first heard about this, I think my face must have been something to behold. I’d be grateful if everyone could watch over this with warm hearts.”
A collaboration wallpaper is available for free download on the official Yoroi Shinden Samurai Troopers website.
Season 2 Begins July 7, 2026
Alongside the collab reveal, it was confirmed that Yoroi Shinden Samurai Troopers Season 2 (Cour 2) will premiere on July 7, 2026. The first episode of the new cour is Episode 13, titled “Shinsho.” Scene cuts and a synopsis for the episode have been released, along with an approximately 15-minute digest PV recapping the events of Cour 1.
Yoroi Shinden Samurai Troopers is the official sequel to the 1988–1989 anime Yoroi Den Samurai Troopers. In Cour 2, the villain Yashima no Sagume and her four subordinate warriors, the Shijushi, begin their campaign to reshape the world.
Director Fujita also shared a message about the new cour:
“Once again, fierce and fateful events will befall the six boys one after another. I hope you’ll watch closely to see how their hearts change as they face ever-greater hardships and enemies — and what they gain, what they lose, and where they ultimately end up in the final episode.”
