About Kingdom
Kingdom, the manga by Yasuhisa Hara, has been serialised in Weekly Young Jump since January 2006 and remains ongoing. A TV anime adaptation launched in 2012, earning the series a broad and devoted fanbase. Set during China’s Spring and Autumn–Warring States period, the story follows Xin (信), a young boy who dreams of becoming the greatest general under the heavens, alongside Ying Zheng (嬴政), a young king determined to unify all of China. The series is celebrated for its intense battlefield drama and richly drawn cast of warriors, strategists, and royals.
Poll Details
The survey ran from June 27 to July 3, collecting responses from 153 participants. The gender breakdown was approximately 30% male and 70% female. By age group, respondents in their 20s and 50s each accounted for roughly 20%, while those in their 30s and 40s each made up around 15%.
The Results
2nd Place (Tied) — Hanoki (桓騎) & Mouten (蒙恬)
Sharing second place were Hanoki, the unpredictable and enigmatic general whose battlefield tactics defy convention, and Mouten, the charismatic and highly capable young commander. Both characters left a deep impression on voters.
1st Place — “Like an Ideal Boss” and “Impossible to Forget After One Look”
The character who topped the poll inspired comments such as “like an ideal boss” and “once you see them, you can never forget them.” The full ranking — from 1st through 10th place, along with selected reader comments — has been published on the Anime! Anime! website.
