The full trailer for the theatrical anime film Uchu Nanchara Kotetsu-kun: Ukkari Detekita Uchuujin wo Sagase! (roughly, “Find the Alien Who Accidentally Showed Up!”) has been released. Alongside it, the film’s theme song was officially announced as 「うちゅーのなんちゃら仲間」 (Uchuu no Nanchara Nakama), performed by Nakagawa Shoko.
About the Series and Film
Based on the original work by Nishimura Yuuji, Uchu Nanchara Kotetsu-kun follows Kotetsu-kun, a student in the pilot program at Space Academy, as he and his friends strive to reach outer space. The anime series aired on NHK Eテレ, with Season 1 in 2021 and Season 2 in 2022.
The film presents an original story that blends re-edited anime footage with NHK science programming and real-life space exploration footage recorded by JAXA and other organizations.
JAXA and National Astronomical Observatory Join the Project
The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ), part of the National Institutes of Natural Sciences, are officially participating in the film as “Space Cooperators” (宇宙協力). The film’s ending sequence will also introduce viewers to Japan’s space development efforts and space business initiatives, set to the theme song.
The newly released trailer gives audiences a preview of the striking fusion between real space footage and colorful animation, accompanied by Nakagawa Shoko’s catchy theme.
