Bandai Namco Filmworks has announced 「Bandai Namco Filmworks Selection Vol.1」, a weekly rotating theatrical event screening the studio’s notable works at five theaters across Japan, kicking off on August 28.
The event opens with Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, the 2024 theatrical film that set an all-time box-office record for the Gundam franchise. Subsequent weeks will feature titles including the 2023 release IDOLiSH7: LIVE 4bit BEYOND THE PERiOD and the 1989 classic Patlabor: The Movie, among others.
During the periods of August 28–September 3 and September 25–October 1, a special screening of 「少年とガンダム | 機動戦士ガンダム50周年 -Road to 50- プロローグムービー」 — a newly produced prologue short film created for the Gundam 50th Anniversary project — will also be shown. Stage greeting and talk events are planned throughout the run.
