Animation studio ufotable has released specially drawn commemorative posters for Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer), based on Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga, and the upcoming theatrical anime Mahoutsukai no Yoru, set to open in cinemas on November 20. The artwork marks both titles’ participation in the celebrated Awa Odori dance festival held annually in Tokushima Prefecture, Japan.
The Posters
The Kimetsu no Yaiba poster features Kamado Tanjiro alongside fellow members of the Demon Slayer Corps, while the Mahoutsukai no Yoru poster showcases Aozaki Aoko and other key characters. Both pieces were drawn exclusively by the ufotable team, which handles animation production for both works.
Awa Odori Events
The Awa Odori festival runs from August 11 to 15 at various venues across Tokushima City. Kimetsu no Yaiba will form a dedicated dance troupe called “Kimetsu-ren”, taking to the streets in a dancing procession on August 14 at 1:30 p.m.
Voice actors Shimono Hiro (Agatsuma Zenitsu) and Matsuoka Yoshitsugu (Hashibira Inosuke) will participate in person, joined by mini mascot characters representing Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, Inosuke, Tomioka Giyuu, and Kocho Shinobu.
Stamp Rally
To celebrate both series’ involvement, a special stamp rally will also be held, incorporating past Awa Odori illustrations from Kimetsu no Yaiba as well as works from the TYPE-MOON × ufotable collaboration, including Kara no Kyoukai. Participants who collect all stamps will receive an exclusive illustrated card. Further details will be announced via ufotable’s official X (Twitter) account at a later date.
