The television anime adaptation of Kureha‘s light novel series The Ogre’s Bride (Oni no Hanayome) has expanded its cast with two veteran voice actors. The production announced on Sunday that Akira Ishida and Misato Fukuen have joined the show, with their characters making their debut in the fourth episode, which aired the previous Saturday.

Synopsis
The series is set in a Japan where humans and demons live side by side in peace. Yuzu is an ordinary high school girl who has always lived in the shadow of her older sister — the bride of a demon. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she encounters a beautiful ogre who declares her to be his bride.

Source Material
Kureha launched the light novel series on Starts Publishing’s Novema! platform in 2019, where it won the grand prize at the First Novema! Character Short Story Contest. The 10th volume was published in December 2025, with illustrations by Yū Shiroya.
Jun Togashi launched a manga adaptation in Starts Publishing’s Noicomi magazine in December 2021. The manga topped Noicomi’s annual comic ranking in the girls’ comics category in both 2022 and 2023. The 10th compiled volume shipped on July 10, and an English release is available via MangaPlaza. Combined, the light novel and manga have over 5.8 million copies in circulation.
A live-action film adaptation opened on March 27, selling 146,000 tickets and grossing approximately 202,395,960 yen (about US$1.27 million) in its opening three days.
