McDonald’s has announced the limited-time release of the Happy Meal “Pokémon” (ハッピーセット「ポケモン」), available at McDonald’s locations nationwide (excluding select stores) beginning Friday, August 7, 2026. The promotion is part of the special summer campaign “Pokémon Summer Mac” (ポケモン夏マック) and marks the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise.
12 Toys, 30 Pokémon Across All Generations
The Happy Meal lineup features 12 toys in total, split across two waves, and collectively showcases 30 Pokémon spanning every generation — a direct nod to the franchise’s 30-year milestone.
- Wave 1 is headlined by Pikachu, alongside starter Pokémon from Pocket Monsters Red & Green and Pocket Monsters Gold & Silver — including Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle.
- Wave 2 features Eevee and Snorlax, joined by starters from Pocket Monsters X & Y and Pocket Monsters Sun & Moon onward.
Toys Designed to Develop Children’s Skills
All 12 toys are designed for hands-on play through rolling, spinning, and launching actions. The Monster Ball Roller toys for Pikachu and Eevee, along with the disc-shooting toys, help children develop fine motor control and spatial awareness as they aim and adjust their throws.
Each set also includes a Pokémon Panel depicting starter Pokémon, which can be swapped between different toys. The panels feature a holographic surface on the front, while the back displays each Pokémon’s name and Pokédex number. With 30 Pokémon panels in total, kids can trade panels with friends or play competitive games, encouraging social skills and communication.
