Japanese broadcaster BS12 Twellv has announced an eight-week Mobile Suit Gundam theatrical film marathon airing every Sunday at 19:00 JST as part of its “Sunday Anime Theatre” (日曜アニメ劇場) programming block. The run begins on August 9, 2026 and concludes on September 27, 2026.
Full Lineup Across Gundam Eras
The marathon kicks off with the HD Remaster theatrical trilogy of the original Mobile Suit Gundam — re-edited from the television broadcast version — airing one film per week from August 9. The fourth week brings the 2022 theatrical release Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island, scheduled for August 30.
September is dedicated to the Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam: A New Translation trilogy, airing across three consecutive Sundays from September 6. The marathon closes on September 27 with Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack, depicting the climactic final battle between Amuro Ray and Char Aznable.
