It has been announced that Gekijouban Mononoke: Chapter 3 – Jajin, the concluding chapter of the theatrical Mononoke trilogy, will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on October 21, 2026, loaded with premium collector’s bonuses.
About the Mononoke Franchise
Mononoke originated from the “Bakeneko” arc within the 2006 Fuji TV Noitamina late-night anime anthology Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales, before spinning off into its own television anime series in 2007. Nearly two decades later, the series remains enormously popular — it claimed first place in a fan popularity poll covering all 70 titles in the Noitamina programming block. The story follows a mysterious traveling medicine seller who wields the Exorcism Sword, the only blade in existence capable of slaying Mononoke, and has continued to captivate audiences since the theatrical films began screening in 2024.
