Studio Ghibli’s Castle in the Sky (天空の城ラピュタ), directed by Hayao Miyazaki, is set for a special theatrical screening at New Chitose Airport Theater — located on the fourth floor of the domestic passenger terminal at New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido — on Saturday, September 12, 2026.
Special Screening to Mark 100 Years of Chitose Airport
The event, officially titled Centennial Anniversary of Chitose City Airport Opening: Castle in the Sky Special Screening, will be held as part of the broader SKY & AUTUMN DREAM FESTA 2026 in New Chitose Airport taking place on the same day.

Porco Rosso Heads to the 13th International Animation Film Festival
It has also been confirmed that Porco Rosso (紅の豚), another Miyazaki-directed Ghibli classic, will be screened during the 13th New Chitose Airport International Animation Film Festival (第13回 新千歳空港国際アニメーション映画祭), running from November 20 to 24, 2026 at the New Chitose Airport terminal building.
