A collection of seven retro-future themed merchandise items from the TV anime 攻殻機動隊 THE GHOST IN THE SHELL will open for pre-order on ANIGA-TER, the e-commerce platform operated by Banana Spirits, starting August 10, 2026 at 18:00 JST. Shipping is scheduled to begin in early October 2026.
About the Series
Ghost in the Shell is a landmark cyberpunk science-fiction franchise originating from Shirow Masamune‘s manga, first published in 1989. Set in a near-future world where advanced cybernetics and information networks allow humans to interface directly with a digital “cyberbrain,” the story follows a special ops unit led by full-body cyborg Motoko Kusanagi as they combat cybercrime. The franchise has since expanded into anime films, a Hollywood live-action adaptation, and video games, and has had an immeasurable influence on creators and pop culture worldwide.
This latest TV anime adaptation is produced by Science SARU — the acclaimed studio behind Dandadan — and marks the directorial debut of Moko-chan, who previously served as assistant director on Dandadan. The series has been airing since July 2026.
