The staff behind the From Overshadowed to Overpowered anime (Rakudai Kenja no Gakuin Musō: Nidome no Tensei, S-Rank Cheat Majutsushi Bōkenroku) announced on Thursday that voice actress Sora Amamiya has joined the cast as Tatiana, the older sister of Anastasia. The character is scheduled to make her first appearance in episode 8, airing on August 19.
Broadcast & Streaming
The anime launched in Japan on June 25 at 24:00 (effectively June 26 at midnight) on the d Anime Store, ABEMA, and U-NEXT streaming platforms. It subsequently began airing on Tokyo MX on July 1 at 24:00 (effectively July 2 at midnight), with additional broadcasts on ABC TV, BS Fuji, and WOWOW. Crunchyroll is streaming the series simultaneously with the Japanese broadcast for international audiences.

Hisashi Ishii — known for Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear, I’m Quitting Heroing, and The Unaware Atelier Master — is directing the anime at EMT Squared. Deko Akao (Higehiro, Komi Can’t Communicate, Flying Witch) is supervising the series scripts, while Hideki Furukawa (WATAMOTE, Strike The Blood III onward, Ayakashi Triangle) is handling character design.

Story
Ephtal reincarnates as a human from modern Earth into a world where magic is real. He dedicates his entire life to mastering magic, only to discover he has absolutely no talent for it — and dies in despair. But that isn’t the end: 400 years later, he reincarnates once more under the same name, this time retaining all of his accumulated knowledge and power, and sets his sights on reaching the pinnacle of magic once again.
Source Material
The anime adapts the manga by Kentarou, which has been serialized on Square Enix’s Manga UP! website since September 2019. Square Enix released the ninth compiled volume on July 7. The manga itself is based on Arata Shiraishi‘s light novel series Rakudai Kenja no Gakuin Musō: Nido Tensei Shita Saikyō Kenja, 400-nen-go no Sekai o Maken de Musō, originally published as a web novel before Kadokawa released the first print volume in October 2019 with illustrations by uodenim; the eighth novel volume followed in March 2022. English readers can access the manga through Comikey and Square Enix’s Manga UP! Global service.
