The 13th New Chitose Airport International Animation Film Festival has officially revealed its main visual, a newly drawn illustration created exclusively for the event by animation director Natsume Shingo.

Natsume, who is also set to serve as an international jury member for the festival’s feature-length competition category, is currently in production on his original feature-length animated film ghost/夜の果て, scheduled for release in February 2027.

Director’s Comment

“As a child, I remember looking out at the northern sea from a train running along the coastline — the rough waves clashing with the blowing snow felt like an incredible energy. The child looking out from the window in this image represents that inner landscape. A creator is always looking out from the screen toward the audience.

I am truly honoured to participate as a jury member this time. I’m already looking forward to encountering sensibilities and forms of expression I have never seen before.”
